[two typographers from Zurich / Switzerland]   
receive the Walter Tiemann Prize 2004 for
their book "TIF KA TA".

The small, at ?rst glance, unspectacular book,
proved itself on turning over the pages to be a
differently designed instruction for the art of playing
with alphabetic characters. It also obviously
combines this with selected examples,displayed
on aesthetically convincing double pages.
The apparent joy of the two women doing
their work is conveyed to the user of the book.

At the implementation of TIF KA TA on the
computerits multifaceted possibilities become
apparent through active action of the players.
