For the eleventh time, the Society for the Promotion of Printmaking and Book Art at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig is awarding the international ‘Walter Tiemann Prize’.

The ‘Walter Tiemann Prize’ is awarded to works of book art, i.e. books published in limited editions. Entries must contain typographically designed texts. Works may contain illustrations executed in any printmaking technique. Innovative designs that are consciously related to the texts' subject matter are expressly called for. Works published at one's own expense as well as printed by publishing houses may be submitted limited editions.

The following prizes will be awarded:

The main prize may be shared by two or more competitors.
Prizes will be awarded by a specialist jury.
The jury’s decision is final.

Competitors may submit up to three titles published after 1 January 2010. Series (works containing more than one book) are considered as one title.
The deadline for entries is 30 November 10 December 2011. The organizer accepts no responsibility for any damage of the submitted works related to transport or other causes.
Competitors are charged an application fee of 50 Euro each. Students are charged 25 Euro. A request for payment will be forwarded to you with a letter confirming the arrival of your works.
